Biography

Emma Edmondson, MD, MSHP is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania, a primary care pediatrician at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), and a Diabetologist at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP). She is a faculty member in the Division of General Pediatrics, PolicyLab, and the Center for Pediatric Clinical Effectiveness at CHOP. Dr. Edmondson’s research centers on the prevention and management of nutrition-related chronic diseases across the lifespan. Dr. Edmondson received her medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons before completing her residency in Internal Medicine-Pediatrics at the HUP and CHOP. She then completed Academic General Pediatrics Fellowship at CHOP, the Measey Medical Education Fellowship at HUP, earned a Master of Science in Health Policy Research at the University of Pennsylvania, and completed Clinical Diabetes Fellowship at HUP. Areas of focus include improving the transition from pediatric to adult care for young adults with youth-onset obesity, type 2 diabetes, and other cardio-metabolic diseases, and food policy reform.
