Biography

Alyssa J. Moran, ScD, MPH, is Director of Policy and Research Strategy at the Center for Food and Nutrition Policy. Alyssa has extensive experience working with policymakers, government agencies, researchers, and advocates to advance food and nutrition policies that improve health and well-being. Most recently, Alyssa was Assistant Professor of Health Policy at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where her work informed local and national nutrition policies. Previously, Alyssa was in the Nutrition Strategy Program at the New York City Department of Health & Mental Hygiene, where she worked on innovative food policies and programs, including the New York City Food Standards, the Healthy Hospital Food Initiative, and the National Salt and Sugar Reduction Initiative. Alyssa has an undergraduate degree in Chinese Language and Literature from Washington University in St. Louis, an MPH from New York University, and a Doctor of Science degree from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She is a registered dietitian, completing her clinical internship at the Bronx Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
