Biography
Janelle Kort, MPS, is a Research Coordinator in the Center for Food and Nutrition Policy at the University of Pennsylvania. She received her BS in Nutrition and Dietetics and Master of Professional Studies in Nutritional Sciences from Penn State University.
Her research interests focus on understanding how food environments, digital media, marketing, and nutrition communication influence eating behaviors and health-related decision making. Her previous research has examined topics including social media food marketing, nutrition misinformation, food cue responsiveness, and eating behavior in laboratory and virtual reality settings.
In addition to her research experience, Janelle has worked as a personal trainer, which has strengthened her interest in behavior change and the factors that shape health behaviors. She is passionate about conducting research that informs food and nutrition policy and helps create environments that support healthier choices at the population level.
